Mark E. Schario, MS, RN, FACHE 

President, UH Quality Care Network
Vice President, Population Health
Responsible for Population Health at the system level including leading the UH Accountable Care Organization, the Medicare MSSP ACO and the UH Quality Care Network. Mr. Schario has 35 years of experience in the health care industry, including senior executive experience in hospitals, physician practice management, clinical integration and accountable care and emergency medical services systems. His clinical background includes emergency nursing, critical care and flight nursing, and service as a firefighter/ paramedic.


Patrick Runnels, MD, MBA

Chief Medical Officer, Population Health
Driving system-wide efforts to eliminate defects and increase value in mental health and addictions, including leading system-wide coordination of social determinants of health as well as focusing on patient engagement in self management of chronic conditions and wellness. 


Sean Cannone, DO, CMD 

Medical Director, Post-Acute Care
Dr. Cannone has practiced as a geriatrician in the Long-Term Care setting for more than 20 years. In addition to his responsibilities in managing the University Hospitals (UH) Post-Acute Quality Network (PAQN), Dr. Cannone is the Medical Director for UH Home Care and the UH Care Continues Advanced Practice Provider (APP) group.
